The SCRABBLE RABBLE Information and Calendar The "Scrabble Rabble" is a citizens group formed in early 2005 concerned with the future of the community and the preservation of the landscape along Rocky Marsh Run and in the small, historic unincorporated village of Scrabble, WV. The area of the group's concern encompasses both Berkeley and Jefferson counties and generally follows the watershed boundaries from the Potomac River outfall upstream into lands that are characterized by low density rural residential and farm use. Like most of Jefferson and Berkeley counties, this quiet border area is now under pressure for new growth and land use conversion for residential and commercial activities. The Scrabble Rabble are committed to having a voice in the changes that are proposed and will be working with their neighbors to assure that the values and sustainable needs of the community are represented. The Scrabble Rabble are meet periodically at the Mt. Wesley United Methodist Church, Scrabble Road, across the creek and up the hill from downtown Scrabble. Carolyn Thomas is a point of contact for this group. She can be reached at: ScrabbleRabble@aol.com |
